After growing up and graduating high school in Montclair New Jersey, I went to schools in Minnesota, France, Pennsylvania, and Texas.   I received my undergrad music therapy degree from Marywood University in Scranton, PA (1995), and my Masters from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX (2003).  I had the privilege of managing and operating a farm in PA for 12 years, then moved to Terrell TX in 1995 and to Dallas in 1999.  I completed my music therapy internship at Terrell State Hospital and was subsequently employed there for the next three years, becoming supervisor of evening Rehab program.  From TSH it was off to Glen Oaks Hospital – Hunt County Family Services in Greenville, TX where I was part of a team creating a day hospital music therapy program.  I moved to Dallas to work on my Master of Music Therapy degree at Southern Methodist University in 2003 and have lived here ever since.

My training in drumming and drum circling include:  Drum Circle Facilitation Training – Hawaii – Arthur Hull,

Drum Circle Music – Dallas - Kalani

 

In addition to private individual and group therapy and lessons, I provide services to a number of local organizations including:

A.R.T.S for People    Young Audiences of North Texas     Dallas and Garland Independent School Districts   

Dallas Center for Developmental Disabilities    Redeemer Montessori School, Irving, TX

 

Current teaching offerings in Dallas include: Richland College – world drumming class

Changing Seasons holistic center – drum class Tuesdays 7:30-9pm, HealthRhythms 1st and 3rd Thursdays 7:30-9pm, sonic massage by appointment only

Across the Street Bar – African style drum class Wednesdays 8-9pm

Community groups assisting in self-actualization through music.

 

I also have limited availability for private lessons on guitar, music theory and composition, world music and percussion.

One of my true passions is sharing the joy of drumming with young people.  I also provide interactive and success oriented opportunities for self-expression, energy release, and community building.
